After yesterday's excitement with dealing with Stone's now definite allergy to cow milk (protein), I wanted to get out and head over one of the passes to capture a bit of fall color as well as visit a grocery store that I spotted on a ride a few days past.
The short version of yesterday was: morning bottle with lactiaid (lactose free cow's milk) - vomiting - upper respiratory reaction - mommy to work - Stone to nap - Stone up from nap with puffy eyes (one swollen shut) - ditheylmethlybadshit (benadryl) and bottle with soy base - crawling happy giggly baby with constant stream o snot from nose - internet research and call to 24 hour nurse - litany of questions determines we will monitor do not go to ER unless conditions do not improve in 24 hours - outside time including sea shell collecting and wave watching at the beach - another Stone nap - mommy home to happy nearly not swollen smiling baby boy.
As the sun was mostly out today, it was a nice day to head over the pass. There were workers along the route adding a few feet of extension to the poles along the road in preparation for the coming snow season.
The grocery store previously mentioned was well stocked for the size of the footprint. While I can get a few more things from the megamart in Goshagawara, the shorter, less complicated and more scenic drive to this smaller store may have won out for the "car trip" grocery excursions. They also seemed to have a bit more local seasonal produce, namely gigantic inexpensive apples.
As I type he is down for his "early" nap for the day, and once he is up and has more food on that round little belly, we may head out for more outside time, to soak in what is a stellar day in Northern Japan.
