The three of us made another trip to Misawa Friday - Saturday to finalize the details on the purchase of the 4Runner and as always pick up a few things at base. We were meeting some folks for dinner Friday night and as we were in the car leaving base a number of security cars closed all exits to the main road and they began stopping all exits from the base. So traffic built and built and we sat. Joan took the opportunity to feed the boy and about 15 minutes later the security cars left and everyone was allowed to exit. At dinner a couple of folks suggested either a silent alarm was tripped or someone thought someone was shoplifting - thus they shut everything down until they figured out what is happening ...
We returned Saturday afternoon with a loaded vehicle and perhaps for a while we don't have a need to return to Misawa. While some prefer life closer to the base and the convenience that it offers, I prefer the more rural environment and you can attain nearly everything one "needs" here.
Stone is taking to staying up as long as possible then screaming due to lack of sleep - it is quite fun. He is only taking a couple of naps a day, while they are longer they have yet to really be "scheduled". A few photos loaded in Stone's album, otherwise not too much to report other than Stone still has not quite gotten the hang of crawling yet :)
Cheers,
