May 24, 2011

The day began with complete sunshine, something of a rarity at least in the time we have been here.  As Joan had worked another early morning shift, I decided to take Stone back up the pass that we found earlier, thinking that we might get some better shots as there did not appear to be any clouds on the hillsides.  This would also allow Joan some time to rest.  So after tanking him up on milk, we headed out.

Indeed we got to the top and the observation point and although it was hazy, we only had had high stratus clouds to contend with.  The drive was nice with the windows cracked and the sun basking us in warmth in the cool breeze.

There were not too many cars on the road allowing me to occasionally stop and snap photos from the vehicle, which also "tricked" Stone into thinking we were not stopping.  Although, he slept for the majority of the three plus hours we were out.  It was a great afternoon, and below are the links to a few photos in various albums:

The beast ;).

Cheers,

Jeff
